Industrial Dermatitis is an inflammation/irritation of the skin caused by contact with a hurtful agent or environmental factor. Typical materials that increase the risk of the condition include: solvents, detergents and fuels.

An example of an Industrial Dermatitis case is when JCB paid damages to a GMB member after failing to provide gloves to stop the skin condition developing. The claimant was a 52 year old man who developed Industrial Dermatitis after he was exposed to brake fluid and a rust inhibitor.
